Kenyan comedy heavyweights Daniel “Churchill” Ndambuki and MC Jessy are set to headline a special Valentine’s Day experience dubbed “Nostalgic Throwback Valentines”, a themed sing-along dinner that will take fans back to the late 90s and early 2000s.

The event is scheduled to go down on February 14 at Eka Gardens, promising couples, friends and fun-seekers a night packed with music, memories, laughter and a full dinner experience in one of Nairobi’s popular event spaces.

Unlike the usual Valentine’s dinners that focus only on romance and slow jams, this one is leaning into nostalgia — the kind of night where the playlist is as important as the food.

Organisers say the theme will celebrate the golden era of late 90s and early 2000s hits, with a sing-along atmosphere designed to bring back the feel-good energy of that time.

From the era of iconic R&B, classic Kenyan radio favourites and dancefloor anthems that defined a generation, guests should expect a soundtrack that encourages them to sing along, dance, and relive moments from their teenage years and early adulthood.

For many, it is the music that shaped their first crushes, first heartbreaks and first real party memories — making it a fitting theme for Valentine’s Day.

Churchill, one of Kenya’s most influential entertainers and a household name in comedy, is expected to bring his signature humour and stage presence to the night.

Known for his ability to connect with audiences across different age groups, his hosting style often blends comedy with storytelling, which could make the nostalgic theme even more relatable.

Joining him is MC Jessy, a seasoned comedian and event host who has built a reputation for high-energy crowd work and quick humour.

With both entertainers sharing the stage, the event is expected to strike a balance between romance and comedy — a combination that often appeals to guests who want something different from the typical Valentine’s format.

The choice of Eka Gardens also signals an experience-focused setup, with the venue known for hosting themed events, live performances and dinners.

The organisers are positioning the night as more than just a show — but a full Valentine’s package that combines entertainment, music and dining in one setting.
