Edwin Sifuna is currently serving as the Senator for Nairobi County. His political trajectory is defined by a blend of legal expertise and high-stakes party administration.
Sifuna’s academic foundation began at the University of Nairobi, where he earned his Bachelor of Laws in 2006, followed by a postgraduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law in 2007.
By 2008, he was admitted to the Roll of Advocates, a credential that underpinned his later roles as a strategic advisor within the CORD (2013–2016) and NASA coalitions.
His rise within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was not without its hurdles. In 2017, he faced setbacks after losing the ODM primaries for the Kanduyi MP seat and subsequently losing the Nairobi Senate race to Johnson Sakaja.
However, his resilience led to his appointment as ODM Secretary-General in February 2018, succeeding Ababu Namwamba.
