Gospel couple Mesh and Ninah Mpendwa, popularly known as Wapendwa Muziki, have revealed the emotional toll caused by social media bullying.

The duo spoke candidly about their long journey to parenthood during an interview on TV47 Kenya with Betty Kyallo.

The couple, who recently welcomed a baby boy, shared how years of childlessness made them targets for cruel comments.

Ninah recalled being mocked for her petite frame. Trolls frequently questioned her ability to conceive or carry a child.

Cruel Comments andLow Moments’

Ninah described the online abuse as the worst. She was often told she was too skinny to sustain a pregnancy. One commenter even asked, "Where will the baby even stay in such a body?"

Mesh was not spared either. He revealed that trolls attacked his manhood, calling him "tasa" (sterile). He admitted that during their most vulnerable times, they would read every single comment.

This led to deep "low moments" for the couple.

"God's word is final. It doesn't matter what people say; people will insult you, but God’s promises do not fail." — Ninah Mpendwa.

The Legal and Emotional Shield

During the interview, Mesh highlighted the severity of online harassment in Kenya. He noted that cyberbullying can attract fines of up to 20 million shillings or five years in prison.

Despite the laws, the couple had to build a "thick skin." Mesh explained that they chose to encourage each other rather than sink into depression.

They used the negativity to "increase their gear" in prayer and work.

"At first, they got to us... but now we have thick skin. We don’t have time for that; we have so much fun to enjoy with our baby."

A Journey of Faith and Music

The couple’s background is rooted in a long-term commitment. They dated for eight years before getting married. They first met in church, where Mesh used to play the piano.

Their musical journey has been a steady climb. They have been recording music together since 2014. They recalled a time when their videos would only get 66 views.

Today, their hits, such as "Bonge la Surprise," have reached millions of viewers.
