Kenyan preacher Reverend Lucy Natasha has addressed a viral image claiming to show her in an intimate moment with South Sudan’s President, Salva Kiir.
The Empowerment Christian Church (ECC) founder described the picture as a complete fabrication intended to mislead the public.
The cleric issued a formal clarification after the image circulated widely on social media platforms. She stated that the photograph was created using artificial intelligence.

A Digital Fabrication
The manipulated photo depicts a compromising scene between the Reverend and President Kiir. It uses a backdrop that appears to be a government office, complete with the South Sudanese flag.
In the fake image, Natasha is dressed in a blue patterned kaftan. President Kiir is shown wearing his signature black wide-brimmed hat and a blue suit while holding a walking cane.
The digital alteration shows the President leaning forward as if to kiss the Reverend on her forehead.
"In 2026, visual content alone is no longer sufficient proof of authenticity." — Reverend Lucy Natasha.
"Say No to Cyber Bullying"
Writing to her followers, Reverend Natasha urged the public and media practitioners to exercise caution. She asked them to verify information from official sources before sharing content.
She also highlighted the dangers of digital manipulation in the modern era.

The Reverend categorised the spread of the image as a form of cyberbullying. She clarified that genuine photographs from her official meetings are only shared through her verified social media accounts.

"I urge the public and media practitioners to verify information from official sources and to refrain from sharing unverified or manipulated content." — Reverend Lucy Natasha.
The Real Mission in Juba
The controversy follows a legitimate visit to South Sudan by the ECC leader in February 2026. Natasha travelled to the country for what she described as a "Kingdom Assignment."
During this trip, she held a professional meeting with President Salva Kiir. This was a formal courtesy call intended to discuss spiritual renewal and peacebuilding efforts within the region.

The ECC Expansion
The fabricated photo surfaced only weeks after a significant milestone for Natasha's ministry. During her February visit, she officially opened a new branch of the Empowerment Christian Church in Juba.
The expansion into South Sudan is part of the ministry’s broader efforts for spiritual outreach. However, the success of the mission was quickly followed by the emergence of the manipulated content.
