The World's Best Universities for Medicine

The latest 2026 Times Higher Education rankings place the University of Oxford at the top of the world’s best universities for medicine, followed closely by the University of Cambridge and Harvard University.

Imperial College London and Johns Hopkins University complete the top five, reflecting the continued dominance of institutions in the United Kingdom and United States.

The rankings assess universities across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook.

In Africa, Kenya’s University of Nairobi is ranked 601 out of 800 institutions globally, with an overall score of 28.2–33.8.

The results highlight widening global disparities in medical education and research capacity.
