The meteoric rise of Marion Naipei, a 23-year-old mother of one, began in early January 2026 with a video that shattered her private life.
What followed was a month of intense public scrutiny, spiritual pivots, and shifting alliances.
The Leak and the Fallout
The controversy began following an incident in early January 2026. Naipei had met a man named James Opande, whom she had known on Tinder for about a year. She alleges that during their first meeting at a local club, she was drugged with a white powder that made her dizzy.

According to her initial narration, she was in a vulnerable state when she was filmed without her consent.
The footage quickly spread across Telegram and Facebook, leading to her being disowned by her family and evicted from her home. Distraught by the exposure, she confessed to attempting suicide by ingesting cleaning agents.
Mosiria Steps In
As the public attacked her online, Nairobi County official Geoffrey Mosiria intervened. He defended her dignity, stating that her treatment was cruel and unlawful. Mosiria even accompanied her to report the matter to the police at JKIA.
“She is a mother. She is a Kenyan. She deserves protection, dignity, and justice under the law. I cannot crucify her to please a crowd.” — Geoffrey Mosiria.
The Explosive 2mbili Interview
In a spontaneous interview with content creator 2mbili, Naipei defended her "sexy" choice of clothing, arguing it was appropriate for a club setting. 2mbili later noted the interview was unscripted and captured her natural character.

However, the episode sparked further backlash, specifically from the Kitengela Sinket family regarding mentions made in the video.

This forced 2mbili to issue a public apology and withdraw his association from the drama.
He later stated that drunkenness is no excuse for harassment and that individuals must remain accountable.
Redemption and the Prophet
The narrative shifted dramatically when Naipei appeared at Prophet Victor Kanyari’s Salvation and Healing Ministry. In a public display of support, Kanyari gifted her KSh 50,000 in cash and promised to fund any business she chose.
Naipei announced she had "given her life to God," claiming she was blessed by the ministry. Kanyari, who has faced his own public scandals, expressed deep sympathy for her situation.
“If there’s a limit to being saved, please tell me.” — Marion Naipei responding to critics.

Forensic Twists and Cryptic Ends
The story took a complicated turn when reports tied to an alleged forensic analysis suggested the viral videos might have originated from Naipei’s own device. This revelation fueled more online debate regarding the authenticity of her claims.
By early February, the prominent men who supported her appeared to distance themselves. Geoffrey Mosiria revealed he had fasted for three days and felt "warned" by God to step back from the matter.
At the time of publishing, the saga had reached a stage of social media cryptic posts. Kanyari posted a message about a "forest cat" returning to the forest, while Mosiria claimed he had "washed his hands like Pontius Pilate," directing all further questions to the Prophet.

“Paka ya msituni ni ya msituni rudi mstuni nimechoka,” Kanyari posted.
“Jameni Mimi niliosha mikono zangu kitambo kama Pontius Pilate! Maswali zote na Tags should now be directed to Prophet Kanyari. He's in charge. Acha nimeze brufen nilale ama Vipi majamaa,” Mosiria also posted.

In a separate video, Kanyari claimed that he's trying to reform Naipei who insists she wants to open a business of selling panties, an idea that Kanyari is adamantly opposed to.
"Marion Naipei is my girl, she is a good girl and I like her. She wants to start business of selling panties, but I'm worried people might judge me negatively and that's what I am trying to avoid by advising her not to do that business."
