Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has condoled with Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu and her family following the death of her son, Moses Muthama.
In a statement on Thursday, Kalonzo said he received the news of Moses’ passing with deep sorrow, describing the loss as devastating for the family.
He extended his sympathies to Senator Kavindu, Johnson Muthama, and their entire family, noting that the pain of losing a child is one that words can scarcely capture.
Kalonzo reflected on the emotional weight of the loss and offered personal solidarity to the bereaved family.
“As a parent myself, I cannot begin to imagine the depth of pain and anguish you are enduring at this moment. The loss of a child is a wound that defies all human comprehension and is a cross too heavy for any parent to bear,” he said.
“My heart breaks for you, for Johnson, and for your entire family.”
The former Vice President paid tribute to Moses Muthama, recalling him as a young man with promise whose life had brought joy and pride to his family.
He said that while grief had overshadowed the family’s hopes for the future, the memories they shared with Moses would remain a lasting testament to love and family.
Kalonzo said he stands with the family both as a party leader and a friend, assuring them of continued support during the period of mourning.
“As your party leader and, more importantly, your friend, I stand with you in this valley of shadow. We grieve with you, we pray with you, and we share in your profound loss,” he said.
“You should know that you are not alone and that your family can count on our unconditional love and support.”
Kalonzo cited scripture, saying faith should be a source of comfort as the family navigates grief.
He prayed for strength, peace, and spiritual resilience for the Muthama family and for Moses to rest in eternal peace.
Moses reportedly collapsed at home on Wednesday evening and was rushed to a nearby facility, according to family and friends.
In 2024, Machakos Governor Wanvinya Ndeti appointed him as Director in the County government in charge of administration. The county boss has since mourned him.
"I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to Machakos Senator Hon. Agnes Kavindu and her family following the untimely passing of her beloved son, Moses Muthama. The people of Machakos County stand with you in this time of profound sorrow and pray that Almighty God grants you comfort, peace, and strength to endure this immense loss. May the Lord grant Moses eternal rest and give the family the courage to bear this great loss. Our prayers are with you," Governor Ndeti said in a statement.
