Nigerian-American actor and R&B singer-songwriter Rotimi has taken to social media to silence growing rumours regarding his relationship with Tanzanian star Vanessa Mdee.

The couple, who are often in the public eye, faced intense speculation online about a potential breakup. To set the record straight, Rotimi shared a candid video on Instagram to show that the pair are still very much together.

A Message to Tanzania

The video, filmed in Los Angeles, showed a relaxed side of the couple’s life. Rotimi addressed the camera directly to connect with his audience, specifically acknowledging his partner’s home roots.

During the clip, he shouted out "Tanzania" to acknowledge the East African fans who have been following the story closely.

Rotimi used Swahili to engage with his followers and address the claims that his relationship was on the rocks.

This move appeared to be a deliberate attempt to communicate directly with Vanessa's primary fan base in their native tongue.

"LA nights wifey came in town. It's album mode. Working on the album. Watanzania, hatuachani kamwe. Huyu ni mke wangu pekee,” he said as Mdee applauded him.

United in "Album Mode"

While Rotimi spoke to his followers, Vanessa Mdee appeared in the frame alongside him. She was seen focused on her cosmetics, casually applying makeup as she joined her husband in front of the camera.

Rotimi made it clear that his current focus is on his professional life as well as his family. He informed his fans that he is officially in "album mode" and is busy working on new music.

He described the evening as being full of vibes and chilling while spending time with his wife.

The Power Couple

Rotimi, whose full name is Olurotimi Akinosho, is well-known for his role as 'Andre Coleman' in the hit American television series Power.

Beyond acting, he has established a successful career as an R&B artist with hits like "In My Bed." Vanessa Mdee is one of Tanzania’s most successful musical exports, formerly a top MTV Base VJ and a multi-award-winning singer.

The couple’s relationship has been a major topic in celebrity news since they first went public in 2019. Vanessa eventually decided to put her music career on hold to move to the United States to be with Rotimi. They have since welcomed two children together, a son and a daughter.
