Turkana seeks senior HR officer on permanent terms.
Turkana University College and Rongo University have announced multiple vacancies across administrative and academic departments as the institutions look to strengthen their workforce ahead of upcoming academic and operational demands.
At Turkana University College, the advertised opening is for a Human Resource Officer/Senior Administrative Assistant II (HR), Scale X.
The appointment will be on permanent and pensionable terms, subject to successful completion of probation.
The institution directed applicants to clearly indicate the full job title on their application documents and envelopes.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Commerce or Business Management and have at least six years’ relevant experience, three of which must have been served at the level of Human Resource Officer Scale IX or Senior Administrative Assistant I, or an equivalent position.
Professional qualifications such as CHRP II or CPS II are required, alongside registration with a recognised professional body and demonstrated ICT competence.
The role carries broad responsibility for the college’s human resource functions.
The successful candidate will prepare HR budgets, design reward and sanctions systems, oversee staff welfare and working conditions, maintain employee records and coordinate staff performance appraisals.
Additional duties include managing recruitment and training processes, implementing training committee resolutions, administering staff terms of service, handling induction and orientation, and maintaining industrial harmony through liaison with internal committees on discipline, welfare and safety.

Meanwhile, Rongo University, through the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Finance and Planning, has listed four vacancies spanning administrative and academic cadres.
Under administrative positions, the university is recruiting a Senior Technologist/Public Health Officer II, Grade RU 9 (Ref No. RU/AFP/01/01/26) and a Clerk of Works, Grade RU 10 (Ref No. RU/AFP/02/01/26), the latter being a re-advertisement.
In the academic category, the institution is seeking two Senior Lecturers at Grade RU 13 — one in Law (Ref No. RU/ASA/01/01/26) and another in Public Health (Ref No. RU/ASA/02/01/26).
Applicants for Rongo positions are required to submit ten copies of their applications, including application letters, updated curriculum vitae, academic and professional certificates, transcripts, testimonials and evidence of work experience.
The job reference number must be clearly indicated on both the application letter and the envelope.
