Celebrated Kenyan actress Jackie Matubia has spoken about the possibility of becoming a pastor. This comes just months after she announced she had surrendered her life to Christ. Matubia was speaking during the official launch of the Redmi Note 15 series.
The digital creator and actress is a household name in East Africa. She is best known for her roles in the long-running series Tahidi High and the hit show Zora. She now describes herself as a "living testimony".
A Spiritual Shift
In January 2026, Matubia shared a significant personal milestone with her followers. She officially declared herself "Born Again in Christ Jesus."

She told her fans that her faith helped her through a"darkest place".
During the Redmi launch, she explained that her faith is not a sudden change. She revealed that she is actually a pastor’s child.
“For me, I don’t think it’s a big shift. I’m a pastor’s kid. I’ve been in the industry, and right now it is just coming out boldly saying Jesus Christ is Lord and I’m born again, and I’m happy to walk with him until his return,” Matubia said.

"Only God is going to tell me. So, if he decides to anoint me, who am I to refuse?"
Life as a Content Creator
Despite her spiritual focus, Matubia remains a major figure in the digital space. She has over 1.2 million followers on Instagram. At the event, she discussed what she looks for in a mobile phone.

As a content creator, she considers the camera to be the most important feature. She also looks for AI tools that allow her to ask questions while on the move. She noted that she takes great care of her gadgets because her phone is her office.
Empowering Other Women
Matubia is also using her platform to inspire young people and single mothers. She has been involved in business for a long time. She revealed that she owns shops and companies that many people do not know about.
She plans to teach other women how to import goods from China and sell them. She wants to encourage them to be bold in front of a camera to sell their products.
What Lies Ahead
Fans of her acting work still have plenty to look forward to. Matubia confirmed that the second season of her show, Toxic, is on the way. She told her audience that she is "set and ready" for the new season.
However, her main commitment for 2026 appears to be her ministry. She has previously vowed to spend the year preaching the gospel and sharing her personal story. She intends to use her massive influence to offer a different kind of message to her audience.
