The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and several county governments have announced a total of 124 job vacancies, inviting qualified Kenyans to apply for positions across national and county levels.
In a notice published by the chair of the selection panel for the appointment of NCIC nominees, Reuben Chirchir, the commission said it is seeking applications for the positions of chairperson and seven members of the commission.
“Pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 and the First Schedule of the National Cohesion and Integration Act, the selection panel invites applications from suitably qualified persons for nomination for appointment to the positions of Chairperson and Members of the NCIC,” the notice reads.
Applicants for the chairperson position must be Kenyan citizens, hold a degree from a recognised university, and have at least 10 years’ experience in matters relating to race, ethnic and human relations, public affairs, human rights, peace, or security.
Candidates must also meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
For the seven-member positions, applicants are required to meet similar qualifications, but with a minimum of two years’ experience in the relevant fields.
The selection panel directed applicants to submit manual (hard copy) applications accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of national identity card or passport, academic certificates, testimonials, and any other relevant supporting documents.
However, the notice outlined several disqualifications under the Act.
Ineligible applicants include serving state officers, members of governing bodies of political parties, or persons actively involved in the affairs of political parties. Those who have promoted ethnic, racial, sectoral or religious animosity, or openly advocated for partisan ethnic interests, are also barred.
Other disqualifications apply to undischarged bankrupts, persons who have previously served as members of the commission, individuals removed from office for contravening the Constitution, and those who have failed to meet legal, tax, or statutory obligations.
Applications for the NCIC positions must reach the Public Service Commission offices on or before February 13, 2026.
Separately, several county governments have also advertised job openings.
The Kilifi County Government has announced two vacancies for the position of County Chief Officer in the Executive Office of the Governor.
According to a notice issued by the Chief Executive Officer of the County Public Service Board, applications should be submitted in hard copy, clearly indicating the post applied for, and received no later than 5 pm on February 19, 2026.
Applicants are required to visit the county’s website, www.kilifi.go.ke, for detailed job descriptions, specifications, and application guidelines.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to present valid clearance certificates from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
Meanwhile, the Tana River County Government has advertised 114 vacancies across various departments.
The positions include architectural assistants (three), registered nurses (20), enrolled nurses (nine), support staff (15), and clerical officers (10), all under permanent and pensionable terms of service.
An additional 57 positions are available for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) caretakers on contractual terms.
Interested applicants are advised to visit www.jobs.tanarivercpsb.go.ke and www.tanariver.go.ke/vacancies for detailed job descriptions, application procedures, and further information.
The deadline for applications is February 5, 2026.
Both the NCIC and the county governments encouraged applications from marginalised groups and persons living with disabilities.
