Who is using X most?/WILLIAM WANYOIKE

Use of X, formerly Twitter, varies sharply across generations, highlighting a clear social media generation gap, according to global data from Statista.

The survey shows that Gen Z users aged between 1995 and 2012 are the most active on the platform, with 60 per cent reporting usage.

Millennials, born between 1980 and 1994, match the same level at 60 per cent. Usage drops among Generation X, where 39 per cent say they use X.

Baby Boomers, aged between 1946 and 1964, record the lowest usage at 22 per cent.

The findings are based on responses from more than 13,000 people surveyed globally between June 17 and December 29, 2025.
