A report by the Communication Authority of Kenya on cybersecurity reveals a dramatic rise in mobile application attack trends during the final quarter of 2025.
Detected threats surged to 310,009, representing a massive 303.18 per cent increase from the previous period.
Attackers primarily targeted Android mobile devices, Android TVs, the Google TV app, and set-top boxes.
These exploits often stemmed from vulnerabilities such as improper credential usage, insecure authentication, and inadequate privacy controls.
The data underscores an urgent need for enhanced security measures across supply chains and communication protocols to protect digital users in Kenya.
