Online shopping continues to grow worldwide, with the United States leading the way.

In 2024, online purchases accounted for 33.7 per cent of consumer goods spending in the US, the highest share globally.

China followed closely at 31.2 per cent, reflecting the strength of its e-commerce platforms.

The United Kingdom ranked third at 23.2 per cent, ahead of South Korea at 22 per cent and the Netherlands at 20.9 per cent.

Canada recorded 17.9 per cent, slightly above the global average of 17.3 per cent.

Japan, Italy, Germany and Norway rounded out the top 10, with online spending shares ranging between 14.5 and 16.2 per cent, according to Datareportal.
