Sharrif was named Man of the Match in the SportPesa League, scoring 1 goal with 2 shot attempts and 5 cross attempts. He recorded 4 touches in the opponent’s box and completed 2 progressive passes, showcasing impactful attacking influence that helped his team dominate the game brilliantly today.

The weekend threw up a shock in Nairobi as AFC Leopards overturned APS Bomet 2-1 in stoppage time. Leopards controlled 66 percent possession and launched 19 shots to Bomet’s 10, demonstrating relentless pressure.

Despite conceding first through Philip Wasai (84’), Leopards struck twice in added time via Christopher Koloti (90+3’) and Ronald Sichenje (90+5’) to snatch victory.

Coach Fred Ambani described it as “a huge boost for morale,” while Bomet’s Sammy Omollo admitted, “It’s disappointing to lose at home. We have work to do if we want to challenge for the title.” The win keeps Leopards in second with 31 points, still firmly in the title hunt.

AFC Leopards marksman Sichenje claimed the Man of the Match award after a commanding performance, opening the scoring with a decisive goal, registering five shot attempts, and making seven influential touches in the opposition’s half.

He also delivered five precise crosses and created two clear-cut chances, constantly keeping APS Bomet’s defence on edge and orchestrating key attacking moves throughout the match.

Kakamega Homeboyz secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over Kariobangi Sharks, with a late goal sealing the win. Homeboyz dominated early through Moses Mudavadi’s opening strike, and despite Kariobangi’s 68 percent possession, their inefficiency in front of goal proved costly.

Homeboyz attempted eight shots with solid accuracy, while Kariobangi could only muster seven at 29 percent accuracy. Passing stats also revealed a tactical edge for Homeboyz: 389 passes at 78 percent accuracy compared to Kariobangi’s 415 at 89 percent, showing that volume alone cannot replace coherent attacking play.

Homeboyz coach Patrick Odhiambo reflected, “It was a tough match. The late goal reflects the determination and focus of my players—they never gave up.”

Sharks coach William Muluya added, “We had control in periods but lacked finishing. Credit to Homeboyz; they capitalised when it mattered.” The result lifts Homeboyz to third on 28 points, keeping their title ambitions very much alive.

Fleet-footed Kakamega Homeboyz winger Peter Thiong'o was named Man of the Match after a dazzling performance, providing two crucial assists, creating two clear-cut chances, delivering eight pinpoint crosses, and achieving an impressive 38 percent cross accuracy, constantly stretching the opposition’s defence and keeping Kariobangi Sharks on the back foot.

Tusker’s 2-1 loss to Bandari at Mbaraki highlighted the league’s unpredictability. Bandari’s superior possession (64 percent) and passing (243 attempts at 82 percent) allowed them to overturn an early deficit, while Tusker’s sharper shot accuracy could not secure points.

Bandari coach Bernard Mwalala said, “It was a tight game, but we managed to edge them. Every win counts at this stage.”

Bandari’s Amza Ngamchiya claimed the Man of the Match award after a dazzling performance. He netted a crucial goal, registered four shot attempts, and made three incisive touches inside the opposition’s box.

His precision was on full display with 50 percent shot accuracy and an impressive 80 percent pass accuracy, orchestrating Bandari’s attacking rhythm and keeping the opposition on the back foot.

Tusker now sits eighth with 19 points, while Bandari rise to ninth with 18 points, both needing consistency to maintain upper-table ambitions.

Both teams recorded 12 shot attempts, but Shabana’s shot accuracy was markedly higher at 67 percent compared to Sofapaka’s 33 percent, reflecting Shabana’s clinical edge in front of goal. Passing numbers were similar, with Shabana attempting 261 passes (86 percent accuracy) and Sofapaka 263 passes (84 percent accuracy), indicating solid ball control from both sides.

In set‑piece situations, Shabana earned four corners to Sofapaka’s five, yet neither team managed to capitalize effectively. The disciplinary record showed Sofapaka receiving one yellow card, while Shabana stayed clean. Offside calls were minimal, with Shabana avoiding any and Sofapaka committing two.

Overall, Shabana’s early goal and superior shooting precision were the differentiating factors that secured the win, despite the match being balanced in most other aspects of play.

Shabana custodian Stephen Ochieng earned the Man of the Match award after a stellar display between the posts. He produced four crucial saves, executed five confident claims, and made two decisive runouts, maintaining a perfect 100 percent claim efficiency.

His commanding presence kept Shabana in contention, frustrating Mathare United’s attacking efforts throughout the match.

Murang'a Seal edged Bidco United 2–1 in SportPesa League Game Week 17, securing the win with goals from Paul Osama (4′) and Jackson Imbiakha (85′), while Bidco’s lone strike came from Collins Akite (54′).

The match stats reveal Murang'a Seal dominated possession, holding 58% of the ball compared to Bidco’s 42 percent. Despite Bidco attempting 15 shots to Seal’s 10, the home side’s shot accuracy was higher at 50 percent versus 20 percent, translating into the decisive goals.

Seal made more passing attempts (421 vs 312) but had a lower pass accuracy (85%) than Bidco (93 percent), suggesting efficient but riskier build‑up play.

Both teams earned three corners each and recorded three offsides for Seal against two for Bidco. Discipline was even, with each side receiving two yellow cards. The game shows Seal’s tactical edge lay in converting fewer but more accurate chances, while Bidco’s aggressive shooting couldn’t compensate for lower accuracy and less possession. The late goal by Imbiakha sealed the victory, highlighting Seal’s ability to finish when opportunities arise.

Overall, Gor Mahia and Leopards lead the way on 31 points, with Gor Mahia ahead on goal difference, while Kakamega Homeboyz sit third with 28 points. Mid-table battles feature Police FC, Tusker, Murang’a, and Mathare United, all aiming to push higher. At the other end, APS Bomet, Kariobangi Sharks, Ulinzi Stars, Bidco United, and Mara Sugar continue to fight for survival, with every upcoming fixture crucial to avoiding the drop.
