Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has stirred social media by expressing a romantic interest in Marion Naipei.
This comes shortly after the 22-year-old woman went public with allegations of digital abuse by her US-based partner.
The MP’s remarks followed a high-profile meeting between Marion and Geoffrey Mosiria, the Nairobi County officer in charge of citizen management.
Marion sought help from the official to navigate the fallout of a private video leaked online without her consent.

The MP’s Bold Request
Salasya took to social media to address Geoffrey Mosiria directly regarding Marion’s situation. In a public comment, the legislator admitted he has a preference for "short girls" and requested Marion’s contact details.
He suggested that the young woman needs a stable partner to help her move past the current scandal.
"I love short Girl, nipe number yake... she can get a serious boyfriend to mentor her like me," Salasya posted.
The MP argued that the blunder has already happened and that the public should move on. He described Marion as still being beautiful and suggested that they should "forget and forgive" everyone involved.

“In summary, just keep quiet, mrembo, mistakes hu happen and at times we have no control, but it shall pass, and you will come out strong. Hata police station haezi saidia let’sjust forget and forgive each other in this matter,” he added.

A Year of Broken Trust
The controversy began when private footage of Marion was shared across various digital platforms. Marion revealed that she had been in a relationship with the suspect for about one year.
She believed the foundation of their relationship was love and a shared future.
According to Marion, her partner had promised to take her to the United States to start a new life. However, she claims she was recorded without her knowledge during a meeting at a club.
She recalled feeling dizzy after consuming food and drinks ordered by her partner.
"We met with this guy a year ago... He had a lot of promises; he promised me to go with him to the US," Marion narrated while seeking assistance.

Seeking Justice and Support
The impact of the leak has been described as a devastating case of cyberbullying. Since meeting with Geoffrey Mosiria, the investigation into the non-consensual exposure has gained momentum.
Authorities are treating the incident as an attempt to humiliate and exploit the young woman.
While two people linked to the case are currently being processed at Buruburu Police Station, the primary suspect remains at large, according to Mosiria’s update.
The Community Responds
Salasya is not the only public figure to react to the story. Actress and media personality Carrol Sonie has also launched a search for Marion.
Unlike the typical online ridicule, Sonie expressed a desire to "treat" and support her.
"This is not the end of things for her. Help me get her, please," Sonie posted to her followers.
The case continues to spark intense debate regarding the safety of women in the digital space and the legal consequences for those who distribute private material.
