In a statement on Thursday, the party said Tupi would carry the Jubilee Party flag in the race, expressing confidence in her leadership and connection to the constituency.

“Jubilee Party today issued a nomination certificate to Tupi as the party’s official candidate for the forthcoming Isiolo South Constituency by-election scheduled for 26th February,” the statement read.

The party noted that Tupi carries a strong political legacy in Isiolo South, citing the role played by her late father, a former Member of Parliament for the constituency and a long-serving member of the Jubilee Party.

“Her late father was a devoted and loyal member of the Jubilee Party who served both the party and the people with commitment, dignity, and clarity of purpose,” Jubilee said, adding that it remains “deeply grateful for the trust and partnership we have shared with the people of Isiolo South over the years.”

Jubilee said its long-standing relationship with the constituency is anchored on inclusive politics and development-oriented leadership, pledging to uphold that tradition.

“Our relationship with Isiolo South is rooted in mutual respect, development-focused leadership, and inclusive politics,” the party said. “As a party, Jubilee remains committed to safeguarding that legacy while offering renewed, people-centered leadership that speaks to the present and the future.”

With the by-election drawing closer, the party expressed optimism about its prospects at the polls.

“As the by-election approaches, Jubilee is confident that the people of Isiolo South will once again choose principled leadership, unity, and integrity,” the statement said.

Bina herself publicly declared her intention to contest in the upcoming by-election. Her father, who was elected in 2022, ran on a Jubilee Party ticket.

For Uhuru’s party, retaining the Isiolo South MP seat is a matter of preserving a foothold and demonstrating that the former President’s influence lives on despite his retirement from office. T

his is playing out particularly among some pastoralist communities and his support base, Mt Kenya, where Jubilee has been activating its grassroots networks for the 2027 run.
