Kenyan pastor Robert Lumbasi has publicly confirmed that he is married to renowned Tanzanian gospel musician Rose Muhando, revealing that the couple formalised their union through a private family ceremony that was kept out of the public eye.

Speaking to his congregation, Pastor Lumbasi disclosed that the marriage took place in 2023 and that he fully completed the dowry process, a significant cultural requirement across many East African communities. The pastor said the decision to keep the union private was deliberate and rooted in faith, respect, and family values.

Lumbasi expressed deep admiration for Muhando, describing their relationship as one anchored in Christian principles. He also urged members of the church and the public to respect their marriage, making it clear that the gospel singer is no longer single.

“I want to tell men in this church not to approach Rose because she is already taken. It’s been on the low key,” the pastor said during a church service.

The revelation has come as a surprise to many fans across the region, especially given that Rose Muhando has largely maintained a public image of managing her family life as a single parent while steadily building one of East Africa’s most influential gospel music careers.

According to the pastor, the wedding was a modest family affair attended only by close relatives and trusted friends, with no lavish ceremonies or media presence. He said the couple chose a quiet union in order to focus on their spiritual calling rather than public attention.
