Holiday and leisure travel remained the leading reason for visiting Kenya in 2024, according to data from the Tourism Research Institute.

The category accounted for 1.06 million visitors, making it the largest share of total arrivals.

Business and conference travel followed with 0.269 million visitors, reflecting continued growth in meetings and corporate tourism.

Visiting friends and relatives accounted for 0.22 million arrivals, while transit travellers stood at 0.042 million.

A smaller number of visitors, 0.027 million, travelled for other purposes.

The figures highlight the continued dominance of leisure tourism alongside steady demand for business-related travel.
