American streamer and YouTube sensation IShowSpeed on Monday went live from the Maasai Mara, drawing global attention to one of Kenya’s most iconic wildlife destinations.
The broadcast, which attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers within minutes, is one of the most-watched creator live streams from the reserve in recent months.
Speed, known for his high-energy personality and spontaneous reactions, began the live stream shortly after arriving in the Mara with a local tour team accompanying him and his team.
“Chat, we are here in the safari wildlife in Kenya and guess what I am looking at right now?” Speed began with a smile on his face.
He continued by noting that today’s stream was going to be different from his first stream in Kenya, which had been in Nairobi.
“We will be doing safari activities and tribe as well. After the safari, we will be linking up with the Maasai and engage in lots of activities with them,” he said.
“Today is going to be a little bit of a different stream from yesterday, far apart from the city stream. This is a totally different stream.”
He further noted that he was looking at wild lions which he wanted to get more closer to.
The live streamer said that the stream was going to be great and enjoyable.
“This stream will be way more slower compared to the other, which was full of rush. We are out in the wild,” Speed said.
The live stream captured the creator’s first real-time reactions to wildlife sightings, including elephants, giraffes, and a pride of lions resting under an acacia tree.
The streamer repeatedly expressed excitement at the proximity to the animals, telling viewers, “This is crazy. I’ve never seen anything like this.”
Tour guides accompanying him were heard explaining animal behaviour and safety protocols as the audience interacted through a rapid flow of comments on the chat section.
Throughout the stream, Speed emphasised how different the experience felt compared to watching wildlife online.
The American content creator and streamer on Sunday caused a stir in Nairobi’s Central Business District as hundreds of fans mobbed his convoy during an impromptu visit.
He received an enthusiastic welcome as boda boda and cars trailed behind him, with crowds darting across streets and sidewalks to catch a glimpse or record videos on their phones.
The brief stopover temporarily disrupted activity in parts of the CBD as fans jostled to interact with him.
The visit follows growing interest in Kenya among high-profile digital creators and celebrities leveraging large global online audiences.
As of Sunday, IshowSpeed’s YouTube channel had amassed more than 47.9 million views, accompanied by Kenyan influencer Gen Z Goliath and Ugandan sensation Tenge Tenge.
The American Star engaged in several activities around the CBD, including racing in a motorsport.
