Former radio presenter and polarizing content creator Andrew Kibe has opened up about a deeply personal regret.

During a recent interview, he revealed that he wishes he had never undergone the traditional circumcision ritual.

Kibe shared these sentiments while speaking with podcaster Alex Mwakideu on his YouTube channel, ALEX MWAKIDEU TV. The conversation, which touched on masculinity, parenting, and personal choices, took a surprising turn when the topic of the "cut" arose.

A "Beautiful Experience" Lost

Kibe did not mince his words when describing his feelings about his body. He stated clearly that he missed the physical state he was in before the procedure. He compared the natural appearance of his body to something aesthetic and delicate.

"I wish I had my foreskin! I used to love the way my ‘man’ would come out of the foreskin like a flower... it was a beautiful experience, man... It's like a rose."

According to Kibe, the loss of this natural state has left him with a sense of dissatisfaction. He told Mwakideu that he viewed the original form of his body as an "experience" that he no longer possesses.

Breaking with Tradition

The controversial figure, known for his "28 Commandments" book and his 22-year career in the media industry, also questioned the cultural necessity of the practice.

He argued that there is no modern tradition he can latch on to that makes the ritual sensible in today's world.

Kibe explained that for him, the act has no value. He views the ritual as a major decision that involves removing a part of the body without a clear, functional purpose.

This perspective marks a significant departure from many Kenyan cultural norms, where circumcision is often seen as a mandatory rite of passage from boyhood to manhood.

Letting the Next Generation Choose

This shift in mindset has influenced how Kibe approaches parenting. He revealed that he gave his 16-year-old son the power to make his own choice regarding the procedure. He informed his son that, as a father, he did not see the need for it.

"Make a choice. You decide whether you want the foreskin done away with or not... for me, as your father, I don't see the need for it."

Ultimately, his son decided to go through with the circumcision after discussing it with his mother. While Kibe accepted the decision, he maintained that it was a choice the boy had to make for himself.
