Disability rights activist and outspoken commentator Michael Makarina has made headlines across Kenya after claiming he received divine healing during a massive religious gathering in Nakuru County.
Known for his fierce advocacy for the disabled, Makarina’s photo from the Repentance and Holiness Ministry mega rally has sparked intense debate regarding faith and physical recovery.
The activist, who has long used a wheelchair, posted via Facebook a picture of him being prayed on by Prophet David Owuor, whose ministry is famous for attracting thousands seeking miraculous cures for various ailments.
The "Healing" Testimony
Following the high-profile prayer session, Makarina took to social media to address those skeptical of his transformation. In a bold statement, he declared that he had indeed received his healing, even though he remains in his wheelchair for the time being.
According to Makarina, the reason he is not yet walking freely is not a lack of divine intervention, but rather a physical hesitation in his own limbs after years of immobility.

"I have received healing. It is just that my legs are afraid to walk because they are not used to it." — Michael Makarina posted.
He challenged those he called "doubting Thomases" to wait for the moment he finally stands. Makarina warned that when he is eventually seen walking, people should not question his journey but simply acknowledge the miracle with a "Praise the Lord."
Vivid Scenes of Prayer
The interaction between the activist and the Prophet was captured in a series of striking photographs. In one widely shared image, Makarina is seen sitting in his black wheelchair on a vibrant red carpet that blankets the massive stage.
He is dressed in a smart, dark-checkered suit and a white shirt with a black tie.
Beside him stands Prophet David Owuor, identifiable by his long, signature beard and a bright, royal blue checked coat worn over mustard-coloured trousers.

The Prophet is seen leaning toward Makarina, holding a microphone in one hand while placing his other hand firmly on Makarina’s shoulder in a gesture of intense prayer.
The background of the shot reveals the sheer scale of the event, with dozens of men in dark suits standing in the distance, many of them clapping or observing the moment with deep reverence.
A Message to the Skeptics
Makarina’s message was not without its usual fiery edge. He dismissed critics who have questioned the authenticity of the "miracles" performed at the Repentance and Holiness rallies, telling them to keep their "weak faith" to themselves.
"Let Prophet Owuor continue doing God's work for those who have faith... those of you without it, stay with your problems."

The Nakuru Mega Rally
The Repentance and Holiness Ministry, led by Prophet David Owuor, is one of the most prominent religious movements in East Africa.
The ministry frequently holds "Grand Mega Rallies" in Nakuru, which is considered its spiritual headquarters.
The 2026 New Year rally attracted an estimated hundreds of thousands of followers from across the globe.
Prophet Owuor’s meetings are strictly regulated, often featuring congregants dressed in white to symbolize purity and repentance.
