
A new Infotrak end-of-year survey highlights unemployment and the rising cost of living as the biggest financial pressures facing Kenyan households.
According to the poll, 26 per cent of respondents cited unemployment as their main challenge, closely followed by high food prices at 25 per cent.
School fees were mentioned by 17 per cent, while 14 per cent pointed to low wages.
Healthcare costs remain a concern for 8 per cent of households.
Rent and housing expenses, as well as debt, were each cited by 5 per cent of respondents.
The findings, released on December 28, 2025, underscore the financial strain many families continue to face amid economic uncertainty.
