Dominic Munuve, the bouncer who was fatally shot in Machakos Town on Christmas Eve, died from multiple gunshot wounds, a postmortem has revealed.
Addressing reporters after a postmortem was done on Munuve's body at the Machakos Funeral Home on Tuesday, his uncle and family spokesperson, Peter Kioko said that as a family, they were satisfied with the autopsy results.
"The postmortem results have confirmed that Munuve died from wounds he sustained from being shot multiple times," Kioko said.
He spoke shortly after the postmortem examination was concluded on the body.
Munuve, a known bouncer working at a club in Machakos town, died from a bullet under unclear circumstances while at work on the fateful day.
There are claims that there was an altercation between some individuals and him before he was shot multiple times.
He reportedly died at the scene where the incident occurred.
The family is now calling for swift investigations into their kin's murder, even as prosecution of suspects allegedly involved in the murder takes off at the Machakos High Court.
Kioko said they were demanding justice for Munuve, stating he was the sole breadwinner in his family.
"We are demanding justice for our son, whom we solely depended on for our livelihoods," Kioko said.
The High Court has granted the prosecution more days to hold the two suspects accused of killing Munuve so as to conclude investigations.
One of the suspects was produced before the court on Monday, while the second suspect, who is alleged to have pulled the trigger that killed Munuve on the fateful day, was absent.
He had reportedly fallen ill and was taken to hospital, reason why he wasn't present in court alongside his co-accused.
The court ordered that both suspects remain in police custody until January 5, when they would be reproduced in court for a hearing.
The two are accused of fatally shooting Munuve on December 24 in a club within Machakos Township.
