An Infotrak end-of-year survey released on December 28, 2025, reveals that the death of Raila (Baba) was the most defining event for Kenyans, cited by 30 per cent of respondents.

Other major influences included Gen Z protests at 12 per cent and the cost of living at 11 per cent.

Governance issues, abductions, and financial hardships also weighed heavily on public perception.

Conversely, taxation and health policies such as SHA/SHIF had the least impact, mentioned by 1 per cent or fewer.

Overall, the data highlights a year dominated by significant political transitions and pressing socio-economic concerns.
