A new Infotrak opinion poll highlights opinions among Kenyans over who should succeed veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga politically.

The survey shows Embakasi East MP Babu Owino emerging as the leading perceived heir, cited by 33 per cent of respondents.

He is followed distantly by Raila’s brother, Oburu Odinga, at 10 per cent, and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga with 7 per cent.

Siaya Senator James Orengo attracts 4 per cent support, while Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi and ODM executive director Raymond Omollo each register 2 per cent.

Other leaders mentioned include National Treasury Principal Secretary John Mbadi, Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, lawyer Miguna Miguna, Winnie Odinga and Ochilo Ayacko, each polling at 1 per cent.

Notably, 37 per cent of respondents said they were unsure, underscoring uncertainty about Raila Odinga’s political succession. The Infotrak end-of-year poll was released on December 28, 2025.
