Morocco is preparing for a massive musical celebration before the first whistle of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a high-profile concert to launch the tournament in style.

The event takes place on Saturday, 20 December, at the OLM Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat. It starts at 18:00 local time and is expected to run until midnight.

This musical spectacle happens just one day before the host nation, Morocco, faces Comoros in the opening match on Sunday.

Joining Davido is the Moroccan-American rapper French Montana. For Montana, this performance is a symbolic homecoming. Though based in the United States, the rapper was born in Morocco.

Montana has a massive global following. His international hit Unforgettable has earned billions of streams worldwide.

His presence is expected to provide significant global visibility to the opening celebrations in Rabat.
