Award-winning Kenyan gospel minister Moji Shortbabaa and his wife, Nyawira Gachugi, have joyfully announced the arrival of their first child. The couple welcomed a baby girl, confirming the news through social media.
Nyawira described the newborn as their "little blessing." The news comes after the couple had been married for over four years.
The Little Blessing Arrives
In a joint Instagram post on December 15, 2025, the couple shared the heartwarming update with their followers.
“We are so happy to announce that our little blessing left her mummy’s tummy and joined a world where she is loved and has been eagerly awaited,” they shared.

The new parents are now embarking on a journey of stewarding this gift that God has entrusted to them.
The couple expressed their deep gratitude for the support received. They specifically thanked their doctor and the entire family.
Nyawira noted that what began as a journey of fear and uncertainty wound up in laughter and joy.

Joyful Pregnancy Announcement
Moji Shortbabaa and Nyawira first shared the news that they were expecting their first child on 30 July 2025. The announcement, shared on their Instagram accounts, marked a new chapter for the couple.
They shared a touching joint statement expressing their profound gratitude.
They wrote that the blessings of God are amazing. They added that these blessings serve as a reminder that God is concerned about their prayers, even those made in silence.
“We are so honored to be trusted by God to carry this blessing.”
The announcement was accompanied by a moving video. In the video, Nyawira was dressed in a sleek, white midi-dress, complementing Moji Shortbabaa’s light-coloured jacket and white top.
The video was set to Moji Shortbabaa’s song, "Unanijali."
The Four-Year Wait
Moji and Nyawira exchanged vows in May 2021. Their wedding was held at Sovereign Suites. It was a private affair attended only by their immediate family and close friends.
The couple’s announcement of their pregnancy came over four years after their wedding.
During this time, fans and media often speculated about their family plans. Moji Shortbabaa previously addressed the topic in an interview with Radio 47.

He emphasised that he and Nyawira were not in a rush to have children. They were focusing on their individual growth and marriage.

Shortbabaa maintained that a child is a blessing from God. He explained that whether they plan it or not, children come when their time is right.
