As of 2024, the public sector workforce in Kenya is primarily composed of employees under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Other significant segments include Ministries and other extra-budgetary institutions and County governments.

Parastatal Bodies also employ thousands of Kenyans, while Corporations controlled by the government account for only 5 per cent of the total workforce.
