Digital creator Gloria Ntazola has responded after a video went viral of a young man claiming she and her family abandoned him. In a lengthy Instagram statement, she traced the history of their family struggles and her attempts to support him.
Gloria began by explaining their upbringing:
“My parents played a big role in our lives… Dad is a teacher and mom is a farmer. They put us in good schools and made sure we fed and were doing fine.”
She says her brother’s struggles go way back.
“He has been a problem since primary school,” she wrote, adding that high school worsened things as he was allegedly expelled for sneaking drugs into school and getting into fights.
Bringing Him to Nairobi to Start Over
In an effort to help him restart his life, Gloria and her older sister moved him to Nairobi.
“I personally went house hunting, bought everything for his house and paid one year rent,” she said. She added that she regularly bought him shopping and encouraged him to take up farming or any meaningful work.
“I was willing to invest up to 500k… but he refused,” she stated.

Gloria eventually concluded that he needed professional help:
“He needed rehabilitation more than school.”
She persuaded him to join a facility in Tigoni, even going as far as buying him multiple pairs of shoes to motivate him. Despite this, she claims he relapsed soon after:
“He slowly goes back to his usual habits and becomes worse.”
A later altercation with neighbours allegedly led to police intervention, resulting in a second rehab admission. Gloria estimates:
“I spent close to 1.5M on this boy on rehabilitation.”

Family Conflict and Alleged Assault
Gloria says that even after repeated chances, his behaviour did not improve.
“Again my brother goes back to his old habits… wanting to fight people and cause trouble.”
She describes ongoing tension at home due to intoxication and disrespect.
One of the most serious claims she made is that he physically attacked their mother:
“He beat my mom… punched an old lady four times.”
After the incident, Gloria says her father wanted him arrested, prompting him to flee home.
Support for His Child
Gloria revealed she has taken responsibility for her brother’s child, born when he was 20.
“I promised I was going to help with the child’s education,” she wrote.
She added that the child attends a private academy and that her finances now serve the child only:
“The little money I have is for his child’s schooling… The child is more promising and important to me than his father.”
According to Gloria, the constant chaos affected her relationship:
“This stupid child cost me a relationship with my favourite person.”

Following the viral TikTok clip, Gloria says she has made her final decision:
“Gloria is not sending him money… Gloria won’t get him a house… and Gloria is not taking him back to rehab again.”
She dismissed the abandonment narrative, saying:
“Everyone played a part in my brother’s life. I did my best. He failed himself.”
Gloria concluded by stating she is now choosing peace and prioritising her nephew moving forward.
