Kenya’s youth population under 35 years accounts for over 75 per cent of the national total, making young people central to economic transformation.

At least 62 per cent of Kenyan employers identify a mismatch between graduates’ skills and industry needs, hampering youth employment.

Digital skills are especially in demand, with 76 per cent of employers rating ICT and digital competencies as critical for all sectors.

Soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are also vital, cited by 83 per cent of employers as essential for young recruits.
