Popular forex trader Kenyan Prince, also known as Raymond Omosa, has once again sparked debate online — but this time, not for his love life, flamboyant lifestyle, or humorous commentary.
While he has recently made headlines for reconciling with his estranged girlfriend, Stephanie Ngunjiri, a TikTok live session on Sunday, November 9, has now put him in the spotlight for an entirely different reason.
What Happened on Kenyan Prince’s TikTok Live?
Prince, who is known for flaunting his wealth on social media, was livestreaming while seemingly parked on the roadside in his newly purchased luxury Mercedes‑Benz convertible.
During the session, he was giving his followers tips on how to “flex” while buying liquor, saying: “When you get to the liquor shop, you tell them, ‘go and get me some cash that is in my car,’” referring to money stored in the car’s centre console.
However, as he turned the camera to show the compartment, things took an unexpected turn. A black handgun, seemingly a 9 mm pistol, was briefly visible on camera.
Realising what had happened, Prince quickly turned the camera away while swearing, apparently aware that his audience may have caught the firearm on record.
In a statement following the incident, Prince assured the public that the firearm is fully licensed and that he follows all legal requirements regarding its possession.
The apology comes amid strong reactions on social media, with some fans warning about the dangers of publicly displaying guns and others questioning the necessity of owning one.

Social Media Reacts
The incident triggered strong reactions online. Some warned him against displaying a gun publicly, while others questioned whether he holds a valid firearms licence.
His sources of wealth also came under renewed scrutiny, with some users asking why he would have a gun at all, while others suggested it could be a calculated move.
Reactions included:
Darmon Kimberley: “A lot of people have guns but you never see them flaunt them… maybe Kenyan Prince is trying to show he’s well protected. Huyo kijana kila mahali ameonekana watu wanajazana hapo na ni pesa wanamwomba… ata car wash kijana hana amani.”
Ernesto 001: “Nothing will happen to this boy… money is everything in Kenya. Ako na license?”
Saigonpunisher James: “Kenyan Prince, I want you to visit any police station with your licence. I am serious. Hio bunduki kama huna licence… And who issued that license to this content creator?”
Shish Shee: “Hata mimi niko nayo na sioneshagii.”
Lenny Tosh: “People know that you have a gun, you can become a target.”
Millionare Langat: “Life should be secret. Some things are better kept private; don’t think everyone has what you have — you might attract thieves. Be careful, bro.”

A History of Celebrities Flaunting Firearms
Kenyan Prince is not the first local celebrity to make headlines for displaying a gun publicly.
In August 2019, DJ Moh, real name Nicholas Mugo Mwangi, was arrested after photos surfaced showing him with a firearm tucked into his jean pocket while attending fellow DJ Kym Nickdee’s birthday party.
Following public outcry, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations apprehended DJ Moh at Space Lounge, seizing a Steyr pistol and 174 rounds of ammunition.

This was not an isolated incident. Earlier in July of the same year, a leaked video of popular singer Willy Paul threatening to draw a firearm on someone circulated widely on social media, further highlighting a pattern of Kenyan celebrities openly displaying weapons.
