The Radio Africa Group (RAG) has completed an intensive training initiative for its staff. Thirteen employees have successfully graduated from the company’s dedicated Radio Programming Academy.

The programme ran for eight weeks. It focused on equipping the participants with essential programming skills. This development, according to the Group HR manager, Jemima Ngode, is part of the media house's commitment to nurturing its internal talent pool.

Investing in the Future of Radio

The Radio Programming Academy was overseen by Mr. James Njoroge. He serves as the Group Head of Programming. This marks a significant investment by the media giant into its own people.

RAG owns some of Kenya's most popular radio stations. These include Kiss FM, Classic 105, Radio Jambo, Gukena FM, andEast FM, among others.

The group also publishes The Star newspaper. The new training is expected to enhance the professionalism across these brands.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to motivating and developing our own talent, ensuring a strong future for Radio Africa Group Graduation,” Ngode stated.

Ceremony Highlights

The thirteen graduates celebrated their achievement on Friday 7th November at Landmark. The cohort demonstrated hard work and dedication throughout the course.

The training is designed to strengthen the entire team. It helps the company to achieve its overall business objectives.

The RAG Human Resources department praised the initiative. Group HR Manager Jemima Ngode highlighted the programme’s value.

"Investing in our employees not only enhances professionalism but also strengthens our team," Ngode wrote in an internal communication.

She stressed the importance of sharing knowledge. This fosters a culture of continuous learning and development within the company.

“We encourage each of you to reflect on how you can contribute your expertise and knowledge. Your skills are invaluable to our success, and by sharing them, we can foster a culture of continuous learning and development,” she added.
