South African Amapiano stars Nomfundo Khumalo and Kamo Mphela have landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Their arrival marks the official countdown to the highly anticipated Fally Ipupa Live in Nairobi concert.
The star-studded event is set to take place at Uhuru Gardens on 5 September 2026.
The arrivals lounge of the airport was filled with excitement as the international artists made their way through terminal exits. They join a diverse lineup of African talent ready to perform at the historic venue.
Nomfundo Khumalo, also known by her stage name Tango Supreme, was the first to be spotted by local media. Dressed in a matching pink tracksuit, she walked through the airport arrivals area alongside her management team.
She paused briefly to engage with a local correspondent shortly after landing.
Her relaxed yet stylish airport fashion set a vibrant tone for the upcoming musical weekend. Her team carried several pieces of luggage as they headed towards waiting transport.
Shortly after, fellow Amapiano star Kamo Mphela and her entourage arrived at the airport. The singer and dancer was spotted navigating the arrivals terminal with her luggage in tow. She appeared high-spirited and ready for the massive weekend performance.
Mphela, born on 29 November 1999, is widely known as the "Queen of Amapiano." She rose to fame by posting viral dance videos on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
She has since transitioned into an independent recording artist with hits like "Nkulunkulu" and "Dalie."
Preparing for a Landmark Concert
The South African stars join an extensive list of performers scheduled for the 12-hour event. Headline act Fally Ipupa, known as the "Prince of Rhumba", is scheduled for a 2-hour and 40-minute set.
The Congolese icon began his career in 1999 with Koffi Olomide’s Quartier Latin International before going solo in 2006.

Organisers have confirmed that all early bird ticket categories are completely sold out. Remaining ticket options include the standard Wave 1 Regular Ticket at KSh 10,000 and the Wave 1 VIP Ticket at KSh 30,000. VVIP options are also available for KSh 40,000.
