American R&B musician Ne-Yo performed a 90-minute headline set at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi on Mashujaa Day. The three-time Grammy winner headlined the sold-out "One Night Only: Brunch Edition" concert.

Fenon Premium Productions and Radio Africa Group organised the event. Stanbic Bank served as lead sponsor for the daytime concert, which ran from 3 pm to 11 pm.

Ne-Yo took to the stage against a backdrop of glowing red lights, chandeliers, and background dancers. He began his performance in a white tuxedo blazer and fedora hat.

Wardrobe Changes and Smartphone Crowd

Midway through the show, Ne-Yo stepped offstage for a brief wardrobe transition. He returned wearing a black blazer for the remainder of his performance.

Fans in the stands abandoned their seats and gathered near the stage area. Attendees held up smartphones in the air to record his dance routines.

Glowing screens lit up the stadium grounds throughout the set. During musical interludes, the crowd chanted in unison: "Neeeyo, you wanna party!" to which he responded by adding another performance.

Spontaneous Water Bottle Interaction

Ne-Yo paused his choreography during one segment of the set to interact with the crowd. He requested a bottle of water from a fan standing in the front row.

Ne-Yo took a sip of water on stage and tossed the bottle back to the fan. He then resumed his choreography without interrupting the flow of the set.

Massive Sing-Alongs to Notable Anthems

The crowd provided vocal responses throughout the concert. Fans sang along to Ne-Yo's notable R&B tracks, matching the artist lyric-for-lyric.

Tracks such as "So Sick" and "Miss Independent" generated massive sing-alongs across the venue. Audience members sang back every line of both songs as Ne-Yo performed on stage.
