Celebrated Kenyan actress Helen Keli continues to charm fans with her honesty and humor after revealing interesting details about her early life and career during a quickfire interview with Mpasho journalist Kalondu Musyimi.

The actress, known for her powerful performances and strong screen presence, shared that her first job was as a Marketing Executive Manager at a PR firm — where she earned just KSh 7,000.

“I worked as a marketing executive manager for a PR firm,” she said with a smile, adding that the job gave her valuable lessons before she found her footing in acting.

Helen revealed that her first acting role was in The Pirates of Penzance in 1994, marking the start of what would become a long and successful acting journey.

She credited theatre for helping her build confidence, discipline, and creativity — traits that have defined her career ever since.

She also reflected on her education, saying her favorite subjects in school were English and Biology, while Physics was her least favorite.

Asked about her KCPE marks, she laughed and admitted she couldn’t remember them, adding that she sat for the exam in 1989.

Helen, however, recalled scoring a B- in her KCSE in 1993, before going on to major in Fashion and Fashion Marketing, a field that continues to influence her impeccable style.

Life, Lifestyle, and Little Secret

The actress shared that she grew up in Lang’ata, describing her upbringing as full of love and discipline. Interestingly, Helen revealed that she doesn’t have a favorite football team and has no tattoos, joking that she’s never been tempted to get one.

When asked about her M-Pesa balance, she burst into laughter before saying,

“I can’t say,” a playful answer that left fans amused online.

Her dream car, she said, is a Mercedes G-Wagon, but quickly admitted that she doesn’t drive one yet.

“Not a Mercedes G-Wagon,” she said with a laugh when asked what car she currently drives.

The star also shared details of her daily routine, revealing that she wakes up at 3:55 a.m. and goes to bed at 10:00 p.m. — proof of her discipline and structured lifestyle.
