The State Funeral for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga drew vast numbers of mourners to Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi on Friday.

Kenyans arrived in large crowds to pay their final respects to the towering political figure. The public prayer service was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

The event was held under some of the tightest security measures seen in recent times. Authorities deployed thousands of security personnel across the capital to manage the crowds. Police mobilised up to officers.
