Kenyan actress and content creator Nyce Wanjeri and her husband Leting Kipkemboi have opened up about a deeply emotional chapter in their life, revealing how they lost all their belongings after being auctioned in August.
In a heartfelt video shared on her Instagram account, they detailed the emotional and financial toll the experience has had on her family, describing the last few weeks as some of the toughest they have ever faced.
“We were auctioned. This was the saddest day of our lives, aki,” they said, as they recounted the devastating ordeal.

According to Nyce, the auction took place on 29 August, a day she described as one of the lowest moments in her life.
In an emotional clip recorded during the incident, she explained that they had fallen behind on rent for two to three months, leading to the forced sale of their possessions.
“We have never been this low in terms of life,” she shared in the video. “We were behind on rent, two to three months, and everything we had was taken away.”

Nyce also revealed that their daughter had been unable to return to school due to unpaid fees, further compounding their struggles.
The family’s situation, she said, tested their faith and resilience but also taught them valuable lessons about friendship, humility, and hope.
A Lesson in Loyalty and Resilience
Despite the painful circumstances, Nyce took a moment to express gratitude to those who stood by her family particularly their househelp, who did not leave even after going three months without pay.
“She stayed with us through it all,” Nyce said. “Even when we couldn’t afford to pay her, she never abandoned us. That kind of loyalty is something we will never forget.”

The actress noted that the difficult period had also revealed who her genuine friends were, saying she learned “a lot about people” when her family hit rock bottom.
Encouragement Through Struggles
Nyce explained that her decision to share the emotional video publicly was not just to seek sympathy, but to encourage others facing hardship. She wanted people who might be losing hope to understand that difficult seasons are temporary and that recovery is possible.
“I shared this because I know there are people who feel like it’s the end,” she said. “It gets better. Don’t give up.”
Appeal for Support
In her post, Nyce and her husband also made a humble appeal to Kenyans willing to lend a helping hand as they work to rebuild their lives. “Any support is appreciated,” she said, emphasizing that even words of encouragement mean a lot during this period of rebuilding.
The couple’s openness has sparked an outpouring of support online, with fans and fellow entertainers expressing empathy and offering help.
Many have praised Nyce for her courage in speaking about a topic often shrouded in shame and silence.

Her story stands as a reminder that vulnerability is not weakness — and that even in moments of loss, hope and community can light the way forward.
