Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kenny G delivered a spectacular performance in Uganda this Sunday.
The show, aptly titled ‘One Night Only,’ transformed the Mestil Hotel grounds in Kampala into a sanctuary for jazz lovers. The musician captivated the audience, following a sold-out success in Nairobi the previous night.

After a few rain showers on Sunday evening, the stage was set. Kenny G took to the stage at exactly 8:30 pm.
He was dressed in his signature understated style. He wasted no time in immersing the audience in his timeless sound.

The Ten-Minute Test of Mastery
The performance was both intimate and powerful. The audience had the rare privilege of watching a master musician.
He performed with nothing but his saxophone and his artistry. He was backed by a band that moved in perfect harmony with him.

The defining moment of the night was a technical marvel. Kenny G sustained a flat note on his saxophone for over 10 minutes.

Sold-Out Success in Nairobi
The Kampala event followed Kenny G’s performance in Kenya on Saturday night. On 27 September 2025, the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi hosted the first ‘One Night Only’ concert.

This venue features an amphitheatre that seats over 3,000 people.
The Nairobi concert attracted the city’s high society, top CEOs, and jazz aficionados. Attendees included Safaricom Group PLC CEO Dr Peter Ndegwa and Stanbic Bank Kenya’s CEO Dr Joshua Oigara. The night was a sell-out success.
