7 Unforgettable Moments from Kenny G's Nairobi Concert

Nairobi’s high society, jazz aficionados, and music lovers gathered for the "One Night Only with Kenny G" concert. The sold-out night celebrated world-class jazz and style.

Even before the main performance, Kenny G made an effort to connect with the Kenyan audience. He requested a pen and a piece of paper to work on his speech for the following day. He asked someone to show him how to say it in Swahili.

5. Kato Change’s Emotional Homecoming

After his successful set, guitarist Kato Change joined MCs Lotan and Cess Mutungi on stage. Change was dressed in a sharp cream suit. As the conversation flowed, the MCs hinted at a major surprise.

Moments later, the planned surprise brought the smooth jazz concert to a halt. A woman walked onto the stage in a black-and-white cocktail dress. This was Kato Change's mother, who had flown in from the United States, where she resides.

Kato Change turned and instantly lost his composure. He rushed into his mother's arms.

They held each other in a long, emotional hug as the crowd burst into thunderous applause. The surprise was carefully coordinated by the organisers and MCs.
