Worse still, the favoured contractors are accused of shoddy work, leaving behind impassable roads and disgruntled residents lamenting wasted taxpayer millions. The burning question remains: whose powerful hand is protecting this official and allowing him to thrive with such brazen impunity?

A NOMINATED MP has once again found himself in the headlines — and not for anything noble. In his endless quest to patch things up with a certain presidential hopeful, the lawmaker plotted a grand reunion at a flashy hotel on the outskirts of Nairobi. But the script quickly flipped. The staff at the ministry, who are aware, are baffled at how such blatant abuse of state resources could continue unchecked.
