The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced new internship opportunities targeting its female graduates living with disabilities, in a move aimed at empowering them in fields traditionally dominated by men.
The six-month programme will expose participants to careers in business management, driving, logistics and supply chain, mechanics, and information communication technology.
NYS said the initiative is designed to match the dynamic needs of businesses in Kenya and across East Africa, while equipping young women with the knowledge, guidance, and opportunities to thrive.
To qualify, applicants must be NYS graduates with strong academic records.
The programme is open to diploma, craft or trade certificate holders in business administration, logistics and supply chain management, driving, or ICT.
Automotive engineering graduates specialising in heavy commercial vehicles are also encouraged to apply.
The agency stressed that candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and good communication and teamwork skills.
Successful interns will earn a monthly stipend of Sh15,000, with the possibility of formal employment depending on performance.
Applications are being received online through the link https://forms.gle/FXxWVCRMwn5zchie6, with the deadline set for 22nd September 2025.
NYS said the initiative aligns with its wider mandate under the NYS Act, 2018, which includes training, instilling patriotism and service, providing vocational skills, and collaborating with stakeholders to create opportunities for its members.
