Mugithi star Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, is once again at the centre of public attention—this time over his fatherly responsibilities.

The celebrated musician, who has made headlines this year for his political links and controversial departure from the National Police Service, is no stranger to online drama.

Known for engaging candidly with fans on social media, he recently found himself fielding criticism when a motivational post took an unexpected turn.

Samidoh had shared a photo of himself on a bicycle with the caption: “Competition happens at the bottom. The people at the top are collaborating.”

While his message was meant to inspire, one follower—calling himself Logic Reason—used the moment to attack the singer’s personal life.

The fan accused the Mugithi sensation of neglecting his two children with nominated senator Karen Nyamu, alleging that their political differences had hindered co-parenting.

He also threw in a jab about Samidoh’s decision to resign from the police service.

“I used to respect this dude until he decided to neglect his two gorgeous kids begotten with his politician girlfriend, because of her political loyalty, and later resigned just to be called gitungati… that was odd,” the comment read.

Samidoh did not let the remark slide. His comeback quickly went viral: “Logic Reason, very nice. Now accumulate all that respect, pour it to your own mother and father—at least there is a reward in the Bible.”

Nyamu Speaks Out

The exchange revived public debate around his relationship with Nyamu, which began while he was still married to his wife, Edday Nderitu.

Their romance produced two children, Sam Muchoki Junior and Wairimu Muchoki, but allegedly ended in 2024.

Nyamu insists that she was the one who ended things, pushing back against claims she was dumped.

“Me nakaa mtu alikataliwa? Am I the one singing Karen Nyamu’s name in all Mugithis every weekend? Ebu enda uskie wimbo inaitwa Toxic Love tena lol,” she told followers last week.

She claimed Samidoh continues to mention her during performances and even dedicated the song Toxic Love to her.

The senator also used the moment to criticise women who, she argued, pretend to be happy in marriages while attacking single mothers online.

Toxic Love and Public Speculation

In the emotional track Toxic Love, Samidoh reflects on a relationship filled with passion and heartbreak.

He sings about shared dreams for the future, yet describes himself as a “victim of love” caught between devotion and self-preservation.

At one point, he laments hearing that his lover valued a “Range Rover more than a guitar,” suggesting material desires clashed with his artistic path.

Ultimately, the song ends with his admission that he must free himself from the “prison of love.”

Rekindled Affection with Edday

Despite the drama, Samidoh and his wife Edday appear to have rekindled their bond. In July 2025, a TikTok live session showed the pair kissing passionately during a beach outing in the United States, joined by their children and cousin Bernice Saroni.
