President Donald Trump has explained his personal decision not to watch the distressing video of conservative activist Charlie Kirk's fatal shooting.
His comments come as graphic footage of the tragic incident has been removed from major social media platforms following public calls.
President Trump's Personal Stance on the Horrific Footage
President Trump revealed he deliberately avoided viewing the video clips that circulated online after Charlie Kirk was tragically shot at Utah Valley University.
Speaking on Fox News' "Fox and Friends," on Friday, Trump offered a candid explanation for his choice.

"I didn’t want to watch, I heard about it," Trump stated. He further elaborated, "I didn’t want to remember Charlie that way".
The US President suggested he is not well-suited for such graphic scenes, humorously adding, "I would have never made a good doctor, let me put it that way".

He described the reports he received as "horrific". Trump also mentioned a similar avoidance of footage from a stabbing incident in Charlotte, N.C.
"I didn’t want to remember Charlie that way. Yeah, it’s horrific, is what I hear, just horrific.”
Calls for Removal and TikTok's Swift Response
While President Trump voiced his personal reluctance to view the graphic content, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) took direct action concerning its widespread online presence.
She issued a public request to social media giants TikTok, X, and Meta, urging them to remove the footage of Kirk's murder.
Rep. Luna confirmed on Thursday that TikTok had promptly complied with her appeal.
She announced via social platform X, "I have just received word from TikTok that they will be removing the horrific videos of Charlie Kirk’s final moments". The extremely graphic videos of the shooting, which unfolded before a crowd of approximately 3,000 people, had been widely shared across various social media channels.
The Tragic Shooting of Charlie Kirk
Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative political activist and a known ally of President Trump, was fatally shot on Wednesday, 10th September 2025.
The incident occurred during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Kirk was speaking as part of his "American Comeback Tour," where he was engaging in a debate on gun reforms.

Investigators believe the single shot that killed Kirk was fired from a nearby roof in what has been described as a "targeted attack".
Following the shooting, a comprehensive manhunt was launched, lasting 33 hours. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that a suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Washington, Utah, was taken into custody on Thursday at 10 pm local time.
The apprehension of Robinson followed a family member's contact with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, who indicated that Robinson had confessed or implied his involvement.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox later identified the suspect publicly and stated that the state would be pursuing the death penalty in this particular case.
