The Kenya Universities Sports Federation Western Conference (KUSFWE) has unveiled its calendar for the 2025/26 season.
Regional secretary Abraham Ong’ong’a revealed the season will begin at the University of Kabianga in Kericho County on September 27 and 28, with competitions in chess, cross country, scrabble, frisbee, badminton, and men’s rugby 7s.
The action will then move to Kaimosi Friends University on October 11 and 12 for tug of war, taekwondo, table tennis, and lawn tennis.
On October 25 and 26, men’s hockey, swimming, volleyball, and women’s basketball will be held at either Great Lakes University of Kenya or Kibabii University.

Rongo University will host rollball, softball, women’s rugby 7s, and hockey on November 1 and 2, followed by a handball jamboree at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) on November 8 and 9. The University of Kabianga will stage an open tournament for People With Disabilities on November 15 and 16.
MMUST will again host events on November 22 and 23, featuring American football, women’s netball, men’s volleyball, and handball. Cluster football games for both men and women will take place at Kaimosi Friends University on January 17 and 18, while Maseno University will host men’s football playoffs, basketball, and women’s handball on January 24 and 25.
Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) will stage the penultimate event on March 14 and 15, featuring korfball, lacrosse, men’s netball, and women’s football playoffs. The season will conclude with the KUSF Forum at Maseno University.
Ong’ong’a noted that events may be relocated if host institutions fail to subscribe and pay participation fees in advance.
Participating universities in the Western Conference include Kisii, Rongo, Tom Mboya, Maseno, MMUST, Kaimosi, Kibabii, JOOUST, and Great Lakes University of Kenya.
