The University of Nairobi (UoN) is gearing up for one of its most anticipated annual events—the Fresher’s Bash, scheduled for Friday, September 12.

This year, the concert will take place at the Graduation Grounds of Wave 360 Africa, bringing together thousands of students in a night of music, dance, and celebration.

Fathermoh Takes the Stage

Headlining the event will be Fathermoh, one of Kenya’s most popular Gengetone artists and a member of the celebrated group Mbuzi Gang.

He is known for hits such as Kawazim, Dai Dai, and high-energy collaborations across the industry, Fathermoh has built a loyal following among young audiences. His performance is expected to be the highlight of the night, setting the perfect tone for students beginning their university journey.

“We wanted an artist who represents the energy and creativity of our students. Fathermoh was the perfect choice,” said a representative from the organising committee.

More Than Just Entertainment

Beyond the music, the Fresher’s Bash serves as a welcome tradition for first-year students. It gives them an opportunity to interact with peers, learn about campus life, and celebrate the beginning of their academic journey in a lively atmosphere.

Wave 360 Africa, the venue partner, has promised a safe, vibrant, and unforgettable experience with sound, lighting, and stage setups designed to match professional concert standards.

A Platform for Student Talent

In addition to Fathermoh, the event will feature performances from campus-based artists, DJs, and dance groups, giving students a platform to showcase their creativity.

Organisers say this reflects UoN’s commitment to nurturing not only academic growth but also artistic and cultural expression.

High Expectations from Students

The announcement has already created buzz across social media platforms, with many students sharing their excitement under the hashtag #UoNFreshersBash. For many first-years, it will be their first major social experience on campus.

“Fathermoh on stage at my first bash? This is going to be unforgettable!” one student wrote on X.
