The "Forex" Allegations Explained

The term "forex trader" in certain Kenyan online circles has taken on a life of its own. It has been used to describe men who are perceived to be engaging in romantic relationships for financial gain.

The phrase became a viral catchphrase in Kenya, often used in jest to label men suspected of this behaviour.

A prominent example of this was the case of comedian Flaqo and forex traders who have been in a social media feud where forex traders accused the comedian of negatively influencing youth by trivializing forex trading in his skits.

The comedian's  skit and similar content sparked controversy, with traders like Sammy Boy criticizing Flaqo for promoting a negative mindset and undermining the forex profession by linking it to illicit businesses.

Other figures, such as Kenyan Prince, have responded to Flaqo's content, escalating the online debate. This background provides important context to the comments directed at Thee Pluto.

"Kenyans should just stop it maaaahn!! How was I supposed to fly board if I hadn't done it before?"

He also criticised his followers' thought processes, using the Kiswahili phrase "Lakini Mko na akili finyu sana," which translates to "But you have very narrow minds." He later posted a screenshot of the comments with the caption, "Y'all joke too much ooh!!".
