In a recent online appearance, the grandmother of the late TikTok personality Brian Chira has once again captured public attention with a distinct request.
During what appeared to be a live session, she articulated a desire for a new car, specifically a Demio model, with a particular emphasis on its power source.
A New Vehicle on the Wish List
The conversation circulating online features Brian Chira's grandmother expressing her car preference.
The discussion quickly turned to the type of vehicle she envisioned. The dialogue highlights a direct request for a "Demio" car, a model frequently seen on Kenyan roads.

Her reasoning, as conveyed in the exchange, suggested a desire to avoid the common issues associated with petrol or diesel cars.

"I really want a Demio. And it should be electric, not fuel-powered. And buy two batteries," she insisted.
This interaction immediately piqued the interest of netizens, who have closely followed her public life since her grandson's passing.
Understanding Electric Vehicles
The conversation also delved into the practicalities of owning an electric car, revealing some initial misconceptions. The grandmother initially suggested acquiring "two batteries," presumably for charging.
“Moja ikiwa ina charge kwa nyumba, hiyo ingine natumia kwa gari,” she added.

However, she was promptly corrected and informed that electric vehicles operate differently. It was explained that an electric car does not require separate, interchangeable batteries but is charged much like a mobile phone.
The clarification came in a direct statement: "Ah ni electric electric haina battery unacharge tu kama simu".
Public Interest Continues
Brian Chira's grandmother continues to be a figure of public fascination. This is not the first time she has made funny pleas and requests from the online community.
Early February this year, the granny surprised many when she announced that she had plans to sell the house that was crowdfunded and built for by TikTokers, and relocate.
In a video shared on her account, the elderly lady cited her desire to move to a container house, which seemed to anger netizens even more.
She highlighted her concerns for moving were challenges with where the house is situated, as well as her security overall, considering everyone knows where the house is located and who resides there.

Chira's grandmother argued that security within the area was poor as the place was situated in an interior setup far from the road. Another reason for wanting to relocate is the fact that she was lonely, as people no longer visited due to how far the homestead is situated.
Before his tragic passing in March 2024, Brian Chira had shared his deep commitment to creating a comfortable home for his cherished grandmother.

Inspired by his vision, the TikTok community came together in August of that year, successfully raising an impressive Sh. 8 million to support the cause. And with the money raised, 'Chira Clan' was built and equipped with modern appliances and other household goods.
