Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Environment, Geoffrey Mosiria, has publicly addressed a viral throwback photo of him with two women.
The image, which has been trending online, prompted Mosiria to clarify its context on his social media page.
The official chose to set the record straight on a Facebook post, revealing the photo was taken more than a decade ago. He explained that the picture was captured during his campus days, approximately 11 years ago, and featured him with his wife and her friend.
He further stated that by the grace of God, he and his wife are still together on their journey, and are "stronger than ever".

“I’ve seen this photo trending online, and I wish to clarify, yes, that’s me back in campus with my wife and her friend, when we were dating over 11 years ago. Today, by God’s grace, we are still walking this journey together,” he stated.
A Lesson on Love and Partnership
Beyond simply clarifying the image, Mosiria used the moment to share some advice on marriage with his younger followers. He emphasised that a successful marriage is not about rushing or keeping up appearances.

Instead, it is about choosing a life partner who will stand by you through every season, a partner with whom you can go the full distance.
"To our young people: marriage is not about rushing or appearances. It’s about choosing a partner who will stand with you through every season, until the race is fully run. Don't just marry for the sake of it, marry your friend, your teammate, your life partner."

He advised young people to choose a companion with whom they can truly share life’s journey, rather than succumbing to external pressures to get married.
From Campus to a 'Retired General'
Mosiria’s post also included a personal and light-hearted reflection on his past. He quipped that back when the photo was taken, he was still waiting for "ndevu" to come through. He contrasted this with his present status, jokingly stating that he is now a "retired General" with no desire for alcohol.
“And yes, back then I was still waiting for ndevu to come through. Sherehe tulipiga tuka-graduate now I'm a retired General na pombe zii,” he said.
In a separate post, Mosiria acknowledged the virality of the photo, asking his followers in Swahili, "Na mnaota hizi TBT photos zangu wapi? Mko na maneno".
His direct response showed he was aware of the online chatter while remaining composed.
