Quickmart Supermarket has marked a significant milestone, opening its 62nd branch at Circle Mall in Kilimani, Nairobi.

This new store, launched last week, further solidifies the retailer's presence in the bustling Kilimani area, making it their fifth outlet in the locale. The grand opening was met with excitement, featuring exclusive offers and a major car giveaway for shoppers.

Strategic Expansion in Kilimani

During the opening party, Betty Wamaitha, a Quickmart representative, spoke exclusively to Kalondu Musyimi of Mpasho, shedding light on the strategic decision behind the new location.

Quickmart's choice of Circle Mall was driven by a clear understanding of the local demographic.

Wamaitha explained, "We've seen such an opportunity in Kilimani. As you can see, the real estate hire is coming up. So the middle-class shopper here has emerged. So we felt we needed to come closer to them, and hence why we opened Quickmart Circle Mall.”

A Milestone for Growth and Employment

According to Wamaitha, the latest expansion shows Quickmart’s robust growth trajectory. Over the past 18 years, Quickmart has steadily risen to become Kenya’s second-largest retailer.

This achievement is a testament to the "hard work and effort" of everyone at Quickmart, according to Wamaitha.

The supermarket chain is also a significant contributor to the Kenyan economy. Quickmart currently employs over 7,500 Kenyans. Furthermore, it provides vital market access to over 14,500 farmers, whose produce is sold directly in Quickmart stores.

The "Kenyan" Spirit of Quickmart

When asked what makes Quickmart uniquely Kenyan, Wamaitha quickly pointed to the people.

"I think it's us, the people, the staff who work here at QuickMart, everyone with a smile," she remarked. She emphasized that the staff's dedication to delivering an "amazing experience" is the most Kenyan aspect of the brand.

She stated that the opening of the 62nd Quickmart store at Circle Mall is not just an expansion; it's a strategic move to serve a key demographic and reinforces Quickmart's position as a leading retailer in Kenya.
